Dhaulagiri trek is one of most adventure trek in Nepal. This trek has high altitude pass like -French pass(5365m),Thapa pass(5244m),Dhampus pass(4915m)Trekking around Dhaulagiri is an exceptional trek the passes through staggering alpine terrain. Until recently few trekkers ever attempted it but now foreign trekking companies advertise it along side standard treks. It isn't standard, being tough and demanding and has shocked many trekkers who expected something similar to the Annapurna Circuit or the Everest trek. It is better labelled as an extreme route; extreme, because you need a rope and should also take ice-axe and crampons. Going without a guide It is very difficulty. With its extended high altitude nature it should only be attempted when snow-free, from late September to December or perhaps May and early June. This means don't go during March or April, these times can be particularly unpredictable and dangerous. This trek begins at the lowlands of Baglung inhabited by the Brahmins and Chhetries. In the trek, come across the Gurung and Magar Tribes. Beginning from Sal and Pristine Pine forest, the trail foes to barren lands from where we embark on mountain experience with the exquisite Dhaulagiri in front of us. We cross the French Pass and then the Dhampus Pass which offers the breath-taking view of the Dhaulagiri Range, the Annapurna Range, Nilgiri and a look at the deepest gorge in the world, the Kaligandaki gorge. the trek finish at Marpha then after it takes 3 days way to Ghorepani/Poonhill to come back in Pokhara.

Day 5 Takum – Muri Day 6 Muri – Bagar
Day 7 Bagar – Dovan
Here we leave the villages behind and the trail becomes increasingly challenging.
Day 8 Dovan – Upper Vungini (Italian Base Camp)
Passing through beautiful forest we rapidly gain altitude and mountains burst out all around.
Day 9 Upper Vungini (Italian Base Camp)
A rest day for acclimatization. Since there is little exploring to be had, this is a day to relax because tomorrow we will have a tough day.
Day 10 Upper Vungini (Italian Base Camp) Glacier Camp
After crossing the first glacier, probably using a rope in a couple of tricky spots, we climb onto the main glacier. The surroundings are spectacular, which makes up for the rough and dangerous trail. We may also use a rope on this section. This is a particularly tough day. We camp on the glacier rubble.
Day 11 Glacier Camp – Dhaulagiri Base Camp 1
Soon the rough rubble gives way to the smooth ice of the white part of the glacier. We climb steadily to the rough and chilling but spectacular Dhaulagiri Base Camp.
Day 12 Dhaulagiri Base Camp – French Col – Hidden Valley
Getting off the glacier above the base camp often requires a rope, but once over the steep moraine walls we are in safer and more gentle country. After a breathless climb to the top of French Col (5300m), the views of Hidden Valley open out. The broad valley is reminiscent of Tibet and Ladakh and so are the temperatures, at least –20 degrees Celsius at night.
Day 13 Hidden Valley Camp 5000m
A rest day to admire the surrounding peaks and perhaps do some exploring.
Day 14 Hidden Valley - Yak Kharka
After climbing over the 5200m Dhampus Pass, we traverse avalanche prone slopes and then descend steeply to Yak Kharka.
Day 15 Yak Kharka – Marpha
More steep descent leads to Marpha and a well deserved beer over lunch.
