Best Time for Nepal Bhutan Tour

The best time to visit Nepal and Bhutan is during Spring(March-May) and Autumn(September-November). These months offer pleasant weather, clear skies and stunning Himalayan views ideal for trekking, sightseeing and exploring the cultural landmarks.

Spring(March-May)

Spring is considered one of the best times to visit Nepal and Bhutan. During this time, the weather is mild, the skies are clear and the mountain peaks are visible. The Nepal and Bhutan tour offers the view of blooming rhododendrons along the way during this time. Festivals like Paro Tshechu in Bhutan can be experienced during this season.

Autumn (Sep- Nov)

Autumn is  the most popular season for Nepal Bhutan Tour. The skies  are clear, visibility of mountains is excellent, and landscapes are vibrant. This time is perfect for trekking, sightseeing and cultural exploration. Autumn also hosts major festivals in both countries, adding a cultural highlight to your trip.

Winter (Dec- Feb)

In the high-altitude areas, winter brings cold temperatures. The  lower regions like Kathmandu in Nepal and Thimphu in Bhutan are accessible and less crowded during this time. Clear skies often provide spectacular views of snow capped peaks. Bhutan experiences pleasant temperatures and clear skies, making it perfect for exploring the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery, Punakha Dzong and Thimphu Valley.

Monsoon(June-  August)

Monsoon season comes with heavy rainfall, humidity and frequent landslides, making trekking and outdoor activities difficult. Mountain visibility is often poor, limiting scenic views of the Himalayas. However, monsoon is also the time of lush greenery, with vibrant landscapes in the lower region and Bhutan’s valleys. If you are not trekking or hiking, this can be the perfect time to experience local life and traditions with fewer tourists around from Nepal to Bhutan.

Why is Bhutan known as the “Land of Thunder Dragon”

Bhutan is famously known as the Land of Thunder Dragon because of its local name “Druk Yul”. This name translates to Land or Druk(Thunder Dragon) in Dzongkha, Bhutan’s national language.

The name comes from ancient legends where the sound of Thunder in the Himalayas was believed to be the Dragon’s roar, symbolizing power, protection and spiritual energy. The thunder dragon is a sacred creature  that is associated with the Drukpa Kagyu School of Mahayana Buddhism, which is one of Bhutan’s main spiritual traditions.

The mythical dragon also appears on the national flag of Bhutan in white to present purity and holding jewels symbolizing wealth and prosperity. The dragon also signifies Bhutan’s natural power and deep spiritual harmony, resonating with thunderous monsoon clouds over the Himalayas.

The name “Land of Thunder Dragon” captures the mythical landscapes, spiritual traditions and deep connection to nature and Buddhism.

Why is Bhutan considered the Happiest Country in the World?

Bhutan is often referred to as the “Happiest Country in the World” for the unique philosophy it follows on measuring the country’s success through Gross National Happiness instead of GDP.

It is not because of the wealth but because of the values and it was a concept introduced in the 1970s by King Jigme Singye Wangchuck. It is called happiest because Bhutan measures success through collective happiness and well-being of its people.

Bhutan values spiritual growth, environmental harmony and cultural integrity above material success. Happiness is found in the quiet monasteries, trails and smiles of Bhutanese people. Bhutan is known for reminding the world that true happiness is a way of life and not a certain destination.

Accommodation during Bhutan Tour includes comfortable, government approved hotels in Paro and Thimphu. Mohan the Magnificent 😊

Aug 2025 • Solo

I first used Mohan's services back in 2022. I then returned to Nepal the following year in 23 and most recently this year I spent June-August in Pokhara. Mohan is a very jovial, friendly laid back fellow and first time we met we had an instant connection. He's mostly helped me with transport to and from Pokhara & Kathmandu, but also most recently I used one of his fine jeeps to take me to Muktinath. Also his drivers are very experienced lovely people so the journeys have been great!.

His prices are very competitive, and he's given me some nice discounts over the years so I'm grateful for that. Also whenever I've had to change my plans last minute he's been extremely flexible in accommodating my needs. I consider Mohan a friend and will continue to use his services in my future travels to Nepal.

I'd highly recommend anyone to use Mohan, whether it be for trekking or taxi services, he's well established & connected and always has a can do attitude with a smile.

Cheers Mohan 👋 😊

Best service in Pokhara!

Aug 2025 • Solo

Outstanding service across multiple offerings! I initially contacted for a solo trek, which was the highlight of my trip. Hi Nepal demonstrated prompt dropoff/pickup, excellent trek guide tailored to my needs, and overall just a great experience. All with only 12 hours notice!

After some travel issues I experienced with my airplane, Hi Nepal also worked with me on a taxi all the way to Kathmandu which removed the anxiety from my situation entirely. I was picked up promptly at the time I requested, and the company stayed in contact with me to ensure all went perfectly.

10/10 - will be using them again for my next trip in Nepal!
